(via thetemperamentalgoat)

Traumatic amputation of the hand followed by an accident at work. Reimplantation was attempted but was unsuccessful because of venous and arterial thrombosis
Not to be disrespectful to the Korean War soldier who is down one arm, but I can’t look at this arm-in-a-bucket and not see Thing T. Thing from The Addams Family.
Amputated arm showing effects of gas gangrene
Patient was diabetic with poor bowel motility and vascular narrowing. Perforation of bowel mucosa occurred, allowing Clostridium septicum bacteria to infiltrate the bloodstream, causing sepsis and localized gas gangrene, beginning near elbow and extending outwards.
Bilateral Trans-Femoral(above the knee) amputation from diabetic related complications.
Top: Case of cyclopia
Bottom: Intrauterine amputation of extremities by amniotic band early in pregnancy, followed by partial calcification and encysting of deceased fetus. Probably would have resulted in a lithopedion if the female survived longer.
