Degloving injury.

A degloving injury is one in which the patient’s superficial tissues have been torn along superficial tissue planes in a manner akin to removing a glove.
Traumatic amputation of the hand followed by an accident at work. Reimplantation was attempted but was unsuccessful because of venous and arterial thrombosis
Left hand injuries from a milling machine.
The patient sustained left hand bone and soft tissue injuries in a milling machine accident. The patient was taken to theatre and recieved an amputation below the elbow.
Degloving injury in forearm.
This 24 year old woman was the belted driver of a car travelling at 100km/h on the highway. She had her left arm outside the driver’s door window when she lost control of her car. With her arm still outside the car flipped onto its side and travelled 20-30 metres in this position. Paramedics found this patient with her hand trapped between the car door and the asphalt.
